I'm embraced by the emptiness
that swims in the air
I'm cozied by the chill
that teems within my bones
Bridges that couldn't be burned
found themselves in ruin
rearranged on scattered tides
and I came to know a life
without their arms reaching me
offering a way back to the world
but in that solitude blossomed solace
The shadows, they like to think they've won
but my chin has never been lifted higher
than to know what I hold dear
and I still clutch love in my heart of hearts
There, deep inside, I let out, and I can drift
like the ruins, from ocean to horizon
bathing in the glow of our last sunset
and our next starlight

as if our bond had never been sundered

the very same chamber of warmth

The memory of you is a lonely thing
but the dream that had once been us
is what keeps the wind in my sails
and I know it will be the life force
that takes me away from this place
to somewhere that the elements kiss
not unlike how you once kissed me
